Counsellor Bio
Mark Streibel, MSW
My journey toward becoming a counsellor grew out of a deep appreciation for the healing and transformative potential of compassionate human connection. Over the past 12 years, I have dedicated myself to supporting individuals in their journeys toward greater wellbeing, self-understanding, and meaningful change.
I hold a Master of Social Work degree and have spent more than a decade helping people navigate challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and more. My approach is integrative, drawing from evidence-based practices such as:
Mindfulness-integrated Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (MiCBT)
Internal Family Systems (parts work) to reduce shame and increase self-compassion
Somatic / embodied approaches for expressing stored emotions and enhancing connection with self
Trauma-informed care
Emotion-Focused Therapy to understand and process what you’re feeling
Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy to help you move out of conflict / disconnection and meet each other’s needs from a deeply loving place
Safely accessing altered states of consciousness to address treatment resistant conditions
Above all, I believe that healing happens in the context of a safe, authentic, and compassionate relationship. My hope is to offer a space where you feel genuinely seen, accepted, and supported as we work together to help you reconnect with your strengths and move toward the life you want to create.
